20 Tidbits

Some Things That May Surprise You…

  1. I recently bought a guitar and am looking forward to finding my rhythm one of these days.
  2. My first dog, Sandy, “talked.”  My last dog, a black lab named Scarlett, now lives with my ex.  My next dog is coming soon!
  3. My favorite travel destination is the Villa Mangiacane Resort outside of Florence, Italy in Tuscany.
  4. One of my most memorable volunteer experiences was as a literacy volunteer in Chicago; I taught a middle-aged man how to read.
  5. I’d love to be a school teacher and really make a positive impact.
  6. I followed the Tour de France, by car, for my 40th birthday.
  7. Although most would consider me an extrovert, I’m just as happy curled up on the couch with a good book and a roaring fire.
  8. I eloped for only $299 in 1994 in Gatlinburg, TN. My amicable divorce cost about the same amount 7.5 years later.
  9. My favorite museum is a tie between the Musee D’Orsay in Paris or The Met in NYC.
  10. I’m a big fan of integrity.
  11. My nieces and nephews and all my friends’ kids call me Aunt CoCo.
  12. The person who has most influenced my life is my father, who has an amazingly positive spirit in spite of his paralysis when he was only 20 years old.
  13. Decorating for my favorite holiday, Christmas, usually begins in early November because I’m either travelling and want to return to a decorated home…or, I’m not travelling but just want to feel the joyful spirit of the season. 
  14. I had a magical encounter with a South Dakota Indian Tribe Chief on a plane ride once, which led to a more spiritual life for me.
  15. I live by the motto (at least most of the time): “Let Go and Let God.”
  16. My best physical feature, in my opinion, is my square-mouthed smile because it usually signals I’m laughing.
  17. I studied Scriptwriting in college and look forward to writing a best seller before I die.
  18. My most prized possession is my meager, yet meaningful, art collection.
  19. In spite of outward appearances, I meditate.
  20. My relationships (friends, family, mentors, partners, colleagues, clients) are what I cherish most in life.
